Station Table 48
Oak, steel and aluminum
The tabletop is supported by thin cutoffs of a bridge beam.
Heavy beams are scrapped in lengths of less than ten feet, and
we make use of these remainders. Each beam leg is stabilized by two
stainless steel tie rods. Below the clear oak tabletop,
a red shelf is formed from a thick aluminum plate. The shelf braces the
beam legs, and creates a rigid trestle assembly.
Station Tables are in the new Hunt Library, NCSU at Raleigh.
Locking casters raise the tabletop to an optimal height of 41".
These standing desks are available in four and five foot lengths.
